As I have had a lot of 1st time experiences, I've decided to make a list of them. Here goes...
- Having an English cream tea
- Being greeted continental style
- Ordering a drink from a bar (and not being ID'd)
- Opening a bank account and NOT dreading using it
- Living in a communal area
- Flying on my own
- Navigating the tube and 2 terminals with 140 lbs of luggage
- Going 25 hours without sleep and 20 hours without food (not recommended)
- Cooking for myself and not screwing anything up
- Being dehydrated for an extended period of time
- Looking at prices when I buy things
- Starting pretty much everything over
- Tesco's on Saturday afternoon (not recommended, unless you enjoy long queues)
- Wild foxes
- Buying alcohol from a grocery store
- Ordering a drink from a bar (and being ID'd)
- Cooking for others and being complimented (so what if it was just break and bake cookies?)
- Using a radiator
- Seeing aeroplanes and not feeling any jealousy or admiration for the people on board
- Bouncers
- Confusion over my ID
- Being served the wrong drink
As the year's not over, expect more things to be added!

haha, 'Looking at prices when I buy thing'

ReplyDeletehaha... not really john, unless 1 drink a night counts. but even that will be going way down as freshers' week is over.
ReplyDeleteGlad to see that you arrived safely and are off to a fun start. Since you haven't posted recently, they must be keeping you busy!
ReplyDeleteHave a great semester! Bev

ReplyDeletewe've just finished our first week of classes, which went really well. it's been a lot of little getting bits and pieces together tough, especially with the phone and bank account. fortunatly, i'm starting to get setted in, so i should have more time to update and upload!
Glad to hear from you!
